Cunningham Lake Community-Based Watershed Management Plan

The first two meetings in the community-based planning process have been completed. The next step in the project is the development of an official watershed vision statement by the Watershed Advisory Council based on the public input from the first and second meetings. The goals and objectives developed at the meetings will then be evaluated by the council and translated into measurable water quality objectives and loading reductions with the assistance of the technical advisory team.

Once the vision statement and goals and objectives are finalized, they will be posted to this website and the real work will begin. The technical advisory team, Watershed Council, and volunteer working groups will begin developing and evaluating alternatives to meet the water quality goals and will ultimately decide which practices and measures will be included in the final management plan.

The bulk of the planning process will progress over the course of the summer, as the various working groups have an opportunity to meet, develop, and discuss the management options. The scheduled dates and times for the various meetings will be posted on this website and each potential participant will be contacted before the meetings. If you would like to be involved in the planning process, have questions, or would like additional information, please feel free to write, email or call any of the individuals on the project contact list.
