Public Participation Process

Both the City of Lincoln and Olsson Associates have strong belief in the value of public participation for infrastructure projects. In particular, we are working closely with various stakeholders who live or work close to the intersection. However, the views of all members of the community who use the roads in this part of the city are important to us.

Because of the various studies done prior to the start of this project, and the development of some preliminary concepts, the City and the design team are not starting with a "blank slate" in terms of intersection decisions. However, citizen input will have an impact on project decisions throughout the process.

Our Promise to the Public for
How Your Input Will Impact Project Decisions:

We will work with you to ensure that your concerns, issues, and advice are considered for the design of this intersection. We will ask your opinions on evaluating the various design elements and then provide feedback on how public input influenced the choice of the preferred solutions.

The following meetings were held as part of the formal public input process:
  • February, March 2004: Stakeholder Focus Groups(Summary)
  • April 13, 2004: First Public Meeting
  • April - September 2004: Continued communications with stakeholders
  • August 16, 2004: Stakeholder Meeting

As the project construction date gets closer, an additional public meeting will be held.

Citizens are welcome to provide informal feedback at any time to the project managers and the public participation coordinator. Please click here to reach one of the project contacts directly.
